Pylon Was Built to Manage PPSM

Pylon gives public-sector teams one system for application connectivity requests, approved data flows, network diagrams, approvals, and change history. It helps mission, cybersecurity, and network teams work from the same approved design.

Our story

How Federal Cybersecurity Work Became Pylon

Pylon began with a practical observation: federal teams responsible for mission networks needed a better way to manage PPSM data, approvals, and documentation.

In 2011, Jesse and Jason founded Beacon Cloud Solutions after years of work inside federal cybersecurity programs. They saw PPSM and network change processes managed through manual records that were difficult to maintain as mission environments evolved.

What began as two cybersecurity professionals improving federal workflows became a fourteen-year effort to build a dedicated software system for application connectivity requests, approvals, diagrams, and audit history.

2011

An Opportunity Takes Shape

Jesse and Jason see an opportunity to improve how federal organizations manage network compliance. They found Beacon Cloud Solutions to build something better.

2012–2015

Building Credibility

The team supports commercial clients, earns its first federal contracts, and goes full-time. Beacon Cloud gains traction in mission-critical environments.

2016

A Proposal That Changes Everything

The team submits an unsolicited proposal for an automated compliance solution. The contract is awarded and development begins on the first version of the platform.

2016–2023

The Platform Matures

Seven years of iteration inside federal programs. The platform expands to support more PPSM workflows, devices, data flows, and approval needs.

2023–2024

A Strategic Shift

Beacon Cloud releases Pylon, a purpose-built platform representing everything the team has learned. The company pivots from services to software.

Today

Beacon Cloud Becomes Pylon

Pylon is bootstrapped, profitable, and focused on giving public-sector organizations one system for PPSM requests, approvals, approved connectivity, and change history.
